Breanne is our Occupational Therapist. She attends once a week for four hours, usually on a Thursday morning.
Breanne helps to create a 'Sensory Diet' for children with sensory processing difficulties. The 'diet' activities are used by the staff during the school day to improve children's engagement in learning.
Breanne also runs some small groups throughout the year - a fine motor group and sensory food groups. The food groups are a means to encourage children to get close to, touch and try new foods.
Finally, Breanne helps to train the staff about sensory issues, how they impact on behaviour, and ways to help them to encourage their children to engage with all activities including improved eating.
During the year she has drop-in clinics and one-to-one meetings with parents and carers to give them help and advice.
